Theodore Parker was a reforming minister of the Unitarian Church, and one of the earliest ministers to question how the Bible was to be understood and interpreted. A famous abolitionist, his words and popular quotations would later inspire speeches by Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr.
