A small congregation with a big voice!

Harbor UU has a wonderful acoustical space and music plays a large role in our Sunday morning services. Through music, everyone can participate in the service, whether they sing along, share their skills by playing an instrument, joining our choir, or simply listening and appreciating the beauty of voices raised in song.

We find that all music can bring spiritual inspiration. You might find songs you wouldn’t expect in a church on a Sunday morning. Musical styles we’ve featured in services have included pop, folk, jazz, musical theatre, classical, spirituals, gospel, world music, and hymns written by UU composers.

We would love to hear from you if you sing or play an instrument and if you have had some performing experience and would like to participate in our Sunday morning services

Choir

Our choir welcomes everyone who would like to sing with us. We do not host auditions. If you love to sing and are willing to attend weekly choir practice, please come join us!

The choir sings at Sunday services about once a month, sharing special music and leading the congregation in singing hymns. Small ensembles from the choir sometimes sing for services on other Sundays, providing special music or leading hymns.

Rehearsals are in the sanctuary each Wednesday evening, September to May, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. If you are interested in joining our choir, contact Sue McIntire, our Music Director.

Other Opportunities

Our congregation has hosted concerts by professional musicians and is available for events. Please see our rental policy if you would like to use this space as your concert venue.

We regularly schedule our open mic events, called Coffeehouse, at the church. These events are well attended and bring our congregation, friends, families, and community members together to share and enjoy musical performances, poetry readings, storytelling, and laughter.
